Community Theatre Groups
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals who have an interest in the theatre to gain acting and stage experience for pleasure and amusement by joining a local theatre group.
Humanities Clubs/Societies
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in literature, history, philosophy, theology, modern and classical languages, archaeology, linguistics or jurisprudence, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include lectures, slide shows and other presentations that provide information about specific topics; opportunities for members to share and/or discuss their own work on major issues in the subject area; field trips, where relevant; and other activities that promote the study and appreciation of the humanities among members. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
Music Groups
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals who play a musical instrument or enjoy a particular style of singing to join a group and play or sing collaboratively with others who have the same skills and interests or to listen to the music of their choice in the company of other enthusiasts.
Science and Mathematics Clubs/Societies
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in any of the life sciences, mathematics and statistics or the physical sciences, often through the medium of a club or society that is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include lectures, slide shows and other presentations that provide information about specific topics; opportunities for members to share and/or discuss their own work on issues in the subject area; field trips, where relevant; and other activities that promote the study and appreciation of science and mathematics among members. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
