Description and Service Details

Description (Service)

Children's mental health and autism services include:  
 
YODA (Youth Overcoming Depression & Anxiety): 

  • services youth in grades 6-8 requiring support to address issues of anxiety & depression and/or having difficulty functioning in their home, school and community environments 
  • offers 10 week group treatment programs in community schools in North Halton (covers Oakville) and Burlington

Day treatment programs: 

  • school-based therapeutic program for children and youth showing signs of significant social, emotional and/or behavioural problems and some difficulty in the school setting and/or at home 
  • delivered in partnership with local school boards
  • each program is located in a community school, open to all areas of the region, elementary and secondary, combined focus of mental health and education
  • offers families an opportunity to build on their strengths, skills and relationships

Woodview Learning Centre:

  • private school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, located at 69 Flatt Rd, Burlington (fee-based program)

HIP (Halton Intensive Program): 

  • outreach services include home-based services and supports for children ages 6-12 with serious social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties

LINKING: 

  • offers support for youth and families experiencing a high degree of conflict

Halton Autism Services (Ontario Autism Program):

  • for children with a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • detailed assessments, intensive individualized instruction focused on skill building and generalization of core skills to other environments
  • skill building services and supports for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • individualized plans, family involvement in setting goals, in home and in community settings, parenting workshops

Caregiver Mediated Early Years - Project ImPACT:

  • 12-week early intervention caregiver program
  • offers assistance from certified ABA therapists to set individualized goals for children
