Description (Service)

Provides comprehensive care for women throughout normal pregnancy, labour and birth, and for both women and their babies for 6 weeks following the birth (postpartum visits)

  • midwives can offer prenatal testing such as bloodwork, genetic screening, ultrasound, and other tests where indicated, and most medications pertaining to healthy, low-risk pregnancies
  • midwiwes are also trained to provide breastfeeding support
